CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

A very important part of the Christmas story is that God came “to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.” Luke 1:74,75 NIV. We, in America, have been delivered from our enemies; both from within and without. Now we must serve Him not our selfish desires. If we serve Him we win. If we serve ourselves our enemies win. God help America!

I DIDN'T DO IT

“Who can say, ‘I have cleansed my heart; I am pure and free from sin’?” “…the blood of Jesus, His (God’s) Son, cleanses us from all sin.” Thank God for the hope we have in Jesus. Proverbs 20:9, 1 John 1:7 NLT

I ONLY HAD ONE, OFFICER

Some say there’s nothing wrong with a drink now and then. But what about the next one, or two, or three…? “Wine produces mockers; alcohol leads to brawls, Those led astray by drink cannot be wise.” Proverbs 20:1 NLT

DRUNKENESS & GLUTTONY

A tough Scripture after Thanksgiving day. “Do not carouse with drunkards or feast with gluttons, for they are on their way to poverty, and too much sleep clothes them in rags.” Proverbs 23:20,21

PUBLIC DEFENDER

There is a definite need for lawyers to defend those who cannot speak for themselves; especially those who have not been born yet. “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless and see that they get justice.” Proverbs 31:8,9 NLT

JEALOUSY

Which is worse, anger, wrath, or jealousy. “Anger is cruel, and wrath is like a flood, but jealousy is even more dangerous.” Proverbs 27:4 NLT

SELF-CONTROL

Someone prayed, “Lord remind me that it takes 40 muscles to frown, 20 muscles to smile and only 5 muscles to make a fist and punch someone’s mouth.” Most of us do not need that reminder. Proverbs 25:28 says, “A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.”
