PRIDE AND HUMILITY

WORSE OFF THAN A FOOL

CHILD DISCIPLINE

“To discipline a child produces wisdom, but a mother is disgraced by an undisciplined child. Discipline your children, and they will give you peace of mind and will make your heart glad.” Proverbs 29:15,17 NLT

LEADERSHIP AND THE POOR

When leaders can distinguish between the poor and the lazy we can have an honorable “welfare” system. “If a king judges the poor fairly, his throne will last forever.” Proverbs 29:14 George Bernard Shaw said, “A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always count on the support of Paul.”

LIES AND LEADERS

“If a ruler pays attention to liars, all his advisers will be wicked.” Proverbs 29:12

THE NEW YEAR

Businesses have planned for the new year. Churches have made their schedules. Individuals have made resolutions. What do you say about this? “If any one be in Christ, he is a new creation; old things are passed away, all things are new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

THE CHRISTMAS STORY

The Christmas story has all the elements of the great human drama: hatred/love, poor/rich, anger/joy, sorrow/rejoicing, wondrous/miraculous. If we leave out the central figure, the story is empty, fanciful, and meaningless. And so is life when we exclude the same central figure; Jesus. “...And you shall call His name Jesus, because He will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21
